Wood Slice Unfinished Ornaments To Plant Markers
March 16, 2023
Last Christmas season, I purchased a 6 pack of 2" to 2 1/2" unfinished wood slice ornaments at Hobby Lobby.
They were $2.99 or $3.99. I didn't make tree ornaments with them but I got an idea to create plant markers instead.

These Decoart Patio Paint Self Adhesive Herb Stencils are no longer readily available online.
I have had them for a while and used them several times.
I cut down the jute ornament hangers to a couple inches, tied them in a knot, and swirled on the herb names using Fusion Mineral Paint in Ash.
If I decide to use these outdoors, I will seal them with a clear matte spray like Painters Touch Clear Ultra Cover.
I found a 1/8" x 48" Hillman Cold Rolled Steel Rod at our local Menards.
The rod was cut into six, 8" lengths. A corresponding width hole was drilled in the bottoms of the wood slices. The rod was pushed into the holes with a snug fit.
Easy and fun rustic, herb plant markers.
I pushed the rods into the faux soil in the bottom of these faux herb plant pots.
I think the smaller wood slices work well as plant markers.
The other three markers.
I added a puppy to my home this week. Meet Daisy, a 9 week old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
She is adorable but very busy!
