A Frame & Pie Basket Project Featured In Country Sampler Magazine

May 16, 2023

I am delighted to share with you two projects that I had had featured in the July 2023 issue of Country Sampler Magazine.

Besides sharing primitive country homes like it always has, the magazine now includes upcycling and repurposing ideas and farmhouse decor too.  Pick up this issue! It features projects by my blogging friends Sadie Seasongoods and House of Hawthornes.

One of my features was a photo frame hanging from a wooden clothes hanger.

The hanger frame has been shared on my blog twice.  Once with a photo of me on horseback HERE, and once with a mini makeover and my dad's confirmation photo HERE.

The complete DIY instructions are in the links above.

My other feature in the magazine was this pie basket on legs!

The pie basket project started out as just a basket makeover and after I was given a set of legs from a broken table, the table idea was born.

  1. Carlene, I checked out the pie basket to side table makeover from 2020 and I loved what you did with it! I was looking at an old picnic basket in my basement the other day which I haven't used in years and now I'm wondering if I could do something similar with it. It's not square and I don't have a clue what I'd use for legs, but I'm going to be on the lookout for solutions to those two problems to come up with something similar to your little pie basket stand. Thanks for sharing that inspired project! P.S. I'm also going to look for the current issue of Country Sampler.

  2. Carlene, I looked up the 2020 post about your little pie basket table. I love the results of the project! Inspired! I have an old wooden picnic basket in my basement I've been wondering what to do with and I tho't maybe I could adapt your idea to make something similar. It isn't square, of course, and I don't have anything at present to use as a base but I'm going to keep it in mind just in case I find a way to make it work. Thanks for the idea! Also, I am going to try to pick up the current issue of Country Sampler. Congratulations for being featured!
