Front Patio 2023 Before & After Junk Garden Photos
July 17, 2023
On June 6, I shared this laundry tub planter in a blog post HERE.
Scroll on down to see the laundry tub in July, along with the other planters on the patio.

Here in July the Kong Coleus and Golden Creeping Jenny.
The planter has three 4 inch pots of coleus and two of Creeping Jenny.
This bucket on my potting table in early June with two Calliope Magenta Geraniums and one Flamethrower Coleus.
The coleus has spread very nicely and the geraniums are doing very well too.
My barn door FARM sign/planter here in early June planted with two 4" Lanai trailing verbenas.
The verbenas here in July have more than doubled in size!
This gorgeous basket (from Mother's Day) was already beautiful in June here.
The Coleus, Deep Rose Calliope Geraniums, Calibrachoa, trailing Verbena, and Variegated Ivy have all done well.
I water this plant almost daily with a weak mixture of Miracle Gro. (Weak Miracle Gro is one scoop/spoonful to a 2 gallon watering can of water.) I have been using weak Miracle Gro on potted plants for years. Most of the water runs through with pots, so it's not too much fertilizer.
I purchased two of these fiber baskets of Picasso Petunias at a nursery this season.
This is one of the baskets in early June.
Just look at it now! It's gorgeous!
These petunias do not require deadheading to stay in bloom.
A wider angle photo of the patio in early June.
And a wide angle photo of the same area in mid July.
Now on to the small garden next to the driveway with the stepladder.
This bucket planted was with three 4" pots of Crazytunia Kermit Purple Petunias. They are very similar to the Picasso Petunias in the hanging baskets
These Crazytunias are growing like crazy!
This bucket on the stepladder was planted with two Magenta Calliope Geraniums and one Megacopa plant in early June.
The plants have definitely grown but unfortunately the Bacopa is not in bloom.
Hoping the cooler wet weather in July will start them blooming again.
The top pot on the stepladder also was planted with a white Megacopa, and two Supertunia Royal Magenta Proven Winner 4" pots.
This Supertunia does not need deadheading either to remain in full bloom.
At the base of the stepladder sat a bucket of 3 Archangel Dark Rose Angelonias.
The Angelonias are beautiful and healthy in July.
The squarish laundry tub under the ladder was planted with four deep rose dahlias and one Wasabi Lime Green Coleus Plant.
The plants are lush and full but not a lot of blossoms on the dahlias.
I really don't plant dahlias very often, and I probably won't next year if I can't keep them in bloom.
Here is the small garden with stepladder all planted in early June.
Ten inexpensive white seed geraniums from Home Depot were planted directly in the ground around the ladder.
All in all, the garden is pretty, and I like the ladder. The seed geraniums are growing and blooming so well!
June in northern Minnesota was hot and dry, and July has been wet and cool. Usually it's just the opposite!
Thanks so much for visiting!
