Back in May, I shared four different planters with succulents, including three mop buckets, on my deck.

Now in early July, the galvanized window box planter of succulents has filled in nicely.

Most of the succulents in this planter had rosette form, including the Iwarenge trailing succulent.

This is one of the mop buckets I planted in late May.

I just chose succulents that I liked, and tried to add varying color, form and size.

I added some of my perennial hen and chicks here and there to fill spaces in the buckets.

Here was my double decker mop bucket planting in late May.

The above average temps in June here really helped fill in the bucket.

And the July photo.

Besides being beautiful, these planters are really easy care.  Not constant watering or deadheading, and so far pretty deer resistant.

Many of my succulents were $3 pots from our local Menards.

The rusty wire basket between the mop buckets was a new junk garden find for 2023.

Here in May, I planted Lantana in mop buckets, and orange Nemesia in small buckets in the basket.

Unfortunately, the Nemesia were overwatered by me, and were replaced with two marigolds.

My cousin Sue, gave me two Black Eyed Susan Vines this year. I planted it in a bucket with a obelisk for climbing.

In this corner of the deck, I put together an herb themed junk garden vignette.

The herbs have filled in early July!

After I posted about my deer problems this season, one of my local readers suggested I try Bobbex Spray Deer Repellent on Amazon.

The smell is terrible, but so far it has done the trick.  I spray when I am ready to stay in for the night.

I think the deer were becoming immune to Liquid Fence and Deer Stopper.

Thanks for visiting!
