Thrifted Pumpkin Basket Makeover
September 13, 2023
I found this wood chip basket pumpkin at a recent garage sale. It was a little tired looking so I gave it a makeover!

The top of the pumpkin basket is missing one of it's wooden leaves.
I removed the stem, the other leaf and the tendrils, and gave the basket a good cleaning.
Next, I put my basket on newspaper outdoors.
I purchased Rustoleum Painters Touch Spray Paint in Cinnamon to paint my project.
I gave the basket two coats of spray paint.
I like this color for the pumpkin.
A larger birch branch came down from a tree in my yard a week ago, so I cut it on the chop saw into pumpkin stems.
I glued the stem on using E6000 adhesive.
I cut two fall leaves off of a foliage pick from Hobby Lobby and hot glued them to the top of the pumpkin, along with some Spanish Moss.
Faux pumpkin leaves would work even better.
The little gnome, with cap matching the pumpkin, was purchased at Target's front bins for $3!
