Vintage Suitcase Upcycling & Repurposing Ideas
January 17, 2024
Here is an assortment of older blog projects and newer ones.
Let's talk old suitcases! I scoop them up when they are clean inside and have a reasonable price.
I spray painted the one above with Rustoleum Painters Touch Flat Black Spray Paint and decorated it with Redesign With Prima's Somewhere In France Transfer.
Keep scrolling for more upcycles and ideas with suitcases.

Here is a typical hard body vintage suitcase that I found at a thrift shop. I think I paid $8 for it.
I usually paint them in neutrals.
The suitcases fit in some cubbies in my family room. I use them for decorative storage in addition to baskets and bins.
I store my blog supplies in most of them.
Fabric and vintage linens fill some of the suitcases.
Below are some of my suitcase upcycle projects with links to the tutorials.
Black French Suitcase with stenciling.
Fall Suitcase Decor with stenciling.
Smaller suitcases make great container vignettes too.
In the early days of my blog, I spray painted a small hard body suitcase inside and out with Rustoleum Heirloom White Spray Paint.
I loved to fill it with seasonal decor items and display it over the holidays. Above is the "Love" Valentine's Day suitcase.
A vintage Valentine's Day suitcase vignette with the vintage prints "Cupid Awake" and "Cupid Asleep".
Suitcase vignettes are addicting! Find a couple of larger items to anchor your suitcase and then simply fill in the gaps with small stuff.
This LINK will take you to 16 container vignettes with crates and other containers.
